    Hello,

I really love this website and the amazing knowledge there is. I have a quick question. I am an entrepreneur trying to make big in the North American (mostly Canadian) business world. I understand having a dimple in the middle of the tie looks elegant and one should aim to have a dimple there. But I wanted to know is having a dimple in the tie also acceptable for business meetings or is it just for parties?

I am trying to get meetings with many CEOs and other senior executives so am not sure if a dimple in the tie would be okay for business meetings as well? Kindly share your thoughts and provide some details. I will be very grateful to you.

    :)

Never mind the dimple in the tie knot, have you thought about the approproatemess of pocket square when you meet these CEOs?

Im more concerned of your placement of an emoticon, rather than placing a dimple in your tie.

Bellyhungry, thanks for the reply. No I haven't thought about it? I thought it might be an overkill, but then again I know nothing about this compared to you. Also, so it is totally okay to have a dimple in the tie for a business meeting? Thank you in advance.

What's wrong with a little smile at the end? Are you trolling or do you actually have anything to contribute? Anyway, seriously, kindly, what are your thoughts on having a dimple in the tie in the business meetings? Please and thank you! (no emoticon this time lol)

I didn't realize there was a contest, but Spoo definitely just won something.

Also, dimples whenever possible for any circumstance with any people.

Don't rattle a hornet's nest...you sound more like the troll here. No serious person would be concerned with the dimple in your tie. Nobody is going to make a decision based on your dimple or no dimple. They will make a decision based on what value you create for them.

If its any consolation, President Obama dimples his tie, and he sees more important people than you, and most of them do not find him appalling.

Seriously, what is wrong with some members here. I am obviously ignorant of such things and I came here very humbly and asked very politely for help. What is with all this lecturing and rudeness, seriously? Anyway, my friends, please share your views about the questions rather than passing judgements on me. I would be extremely grateful. Thank you very much. :)

Spoo, have you ever done a 'how to tie a tie' video a la the armoury?
If not hope you consider doing one :)
    P.S.
Dimple or crumble (more personal preference, do what you like!).

I tie my tie EXACTLY like Mark Cho. Every single step.

    You asked, and I quote:
You asked if it was acceptable. I gave you an example so you can take from it what you wish. I like it, but that doesn't mean its acceptable, although it is.

I would not recommend so a big a tie boner (can we call these Spoo boner's from now on?). You don't to take out your CEO's eye.

Spoo only won the contest of most pics that are completely inappropriate for meeting with a CEO in N. America, obviously.

I hope the OP is trolling. And then he makes it worse saying he asked 'humbly'.
If you were humble you would not need to say that you are big wheeling and meeting with so many CEOs.
There are many generic, direct ways of asking the question without speaking about your high level meetings.
And if you are that high on the food chain, you should know about tie dimples and that they are ubiquitous in terms of occasions.
Have you seen ties without one? Blech.
So, you are either completely ignorant(using kinder language than you deserve) or a troll.

But, hey, at least Spoo posted some good pics so maybe we should thank you.

I am sharing my view(OP request) and passing judgment(against request). 1/2 ain't bad considering the original post.
