Ok so i had some shirt tailored for the first time a little while ago. The tailor sort of folded the shirt inwards on the left and right side of the edge of my back, like where the back of your arm rests.

I have seen the Pinch and Pin method. My question is, is the Pinch and pin method the standard?
The way this tailor did it looks fine. When the shirt is on you cannot really tell unless you look really close.

I am guessing the guy did it this was for two possible reasons. 1. It is fast cheaper and easier to fold and stitch. 2. If the shirt is not cut and material is not removed, at a later date if you put on weight you can left the shirt out.

So my question is, should i go back to this guy or find someone new? The method he used is it legit?

I am including photos in a moment

The best way to alter a too-large shirt is to completely recut it. Here's a place that will do that (and the results are quite good in my experience) www.recutshirts.com

Did you request the least expensive method? How much did that alteration cost you on a $30 shirt?

I knew the guy from a while back. So each shirt cost me 10-12$. So ya i would say it was the least expensive method.

That has got to be the worst website I've seen in quite some time.

But the website has tons of useful information you will not get anywhere else. Do you expect a slick looking website for shirt repair?
