What is the different between a sand colored (silvery grey?) suit and a regular grey to light grey suit?

I've always thought of sand as a light tan.

This.

"Sand" is a light tan/khaki color, not a grey.

Sand has got beige tone to it and light grey is grey.

As grey not tan.

If Armani is calling that color "sand," it's a fairly misleading name. That is definitely a light grey. "Sand," as it's most commonly understood, is a color so named because it resembles the stuff you see at the beach.

They are different colours.

Beyond that what on earth do you mean?

Some beaches are silvery. But yeah, "sand" as commonly used is beige.

Sand is from the tan family of colors and grey or silver is not. unless you are color blind the distinction in color between the two is quite obvious.

Like I pasted, some designers are calling light grey sand colored. Unless it is sand colored? For whatever reason I do not know. So I am wondering if this is commonly mixed up or differentiated?

No. You must have seen something mislabeled. If not, take a pic and show us. Sand is a shade of beige. Grey is grey.
