1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I am about 25 hours in on FFXII

Phew, I'm only about 9.5 in so far. My friend down the hall who is obsessed with FF has logged well over 60 hours. He found some trick to completely max out his license points.

FF is great so far, but I'm afraid it's all going to come to a screeching halt when Wii comes out. Nothing (NOTHNG) stands in the way of Zelda.

My PS3 pre-order will not be filled on launch date. I'm third in line, so I imagine It should arrive in the next two or three weeks.

There are about 30 people that have been lined up outside the Best Buy near my house. They have been there since monday. It has been raining, and verrrry windy at night. One guy told me today that his tent became airborne with him in it on Tuesday evening. They are insane. I hope they all make $2k for their PS3 units, because if they are waiting in line to buy and play it, I'd be inclined to kick them all in the balls with winklepickers.

2k is the going rate. I see a bunch on eBay that have gone for $2000, and the smarter guys who have bundled a few games and an extra controller are getting upwards of $4000.

Good god. And the PS3's launch titles are what exactly that is worth $2000, let alone $4000, or even $600!? So people are paying $4000 for mediocre games and to play a couple movies in hi-def?

    Good god!

I read an article today that the most expensive PS3 sold on ebay was $15,100 to a Brit

I work near a BestBuy and you could see the tents/campers waiting the past few days for the 17th midnite. and each store was only guaranteed a minimum of 6 units.

    people are fuckin crazy

Being an employee of an EB Games location, I can safely say that some gamers are pretty insane.

How much you want to bet these first ps3 models don't work, just like the ps2 and psx? I'm glad I stopped at Super Nintento now.

Grandma just instructed me to "find a Wii" and she'll pony up the dough.

    Life is good.

P.S. Who's likely to have a large stock of Wii's (online)? Circuit City? Best Buy?

dusty I hope you're enjoying your Wii right now, because my friends and I drove around to every fucking store in a 30 mile radius and they were all sold out, everywhere. All the models at Target and Toys R Us have been spoken for as well, apparently.

Reviews are decent so far.. though a big disappointment from Red Steel, which is apparently pretty mediocre.

Lots of people are shouting that the new Zelda is the best game of all time.

Buddy of mine landed two PS3s, and the one he opened to play has been crashing for him every 5 or 10 minutes playing Resistance... It's absolutely heinous. I'm not sure what he's planning on doing about the situation.

I am. In fact, I've been enjoying Zelda for the past 4.5 hours. Don't worry about being able to grab one soon; you know Nintendo is going to be shipping out tons of them between now and Christmas.

I've never really had high hopes for Red Steel. It seemed likely from early playtests that it was going to be another one of those games that has a lot of great ideas but can't pull it all together by release time. Hopefully other developers will be able to work out the kinks and give players the sort of game they were hoping for with Red Steel.
