Did I get a decent price for this Zegna summer suit?

Just stopped by Filene's Basement at Union Square and also the one on 6th Ave and 18th st looking for a summer suit. I'm seeking your opinion on how commonly I might find what I did for what I paid.

At FB on 6th, I picked up an Ermenegildo Zegna (not Z or Soft) in 42R, full canvas, made in switzerland, 3 button, flat front, tropical weight wool suit in tan for 650. The drop is 7, the suit fits great, and the wool is very light and delicate. I would have preferred 2 button, but all my other suits are 3, so this will work fine.

Retail tag from a "Mitchells" store is 1825.

I've looked at completed auctions on eBay, on Bluefly and so on, and haven't found any NWT mainline Zegna (not traveller or MTM) in my size for 650, so I'm guessing they aren't commonly avilable. Opinions?

I also have 30 days to return it, and won't need it until then. I'll hold onto it and see if anything more compelling comes along, for example at the Loro Piana sale.

The fabric is "921006 G". Is there any way to learn more about it? Did someone recently contact Zegna about their suit to determine the line (napoli, couture, etc.)? Did you do it through the website?

It's a good buy, not great. The suit probably retailed in the $1800 range so in terms of the gross discount from retail you did well. The thing is that you can get Isaia, Oxxofrd, Belvest suits (all better IMHO than Zegna) etc. on Ebay for that money on a regular basis.

    the suit fits great

I think that answers the question. It may not be the highest originally priced suit you could get for the money, or the absolute best. But it's a nice suit, for sure, and fit, even with your measurements, is such a hard thing to guage when you haven't tried on the suit.

    FYI, Mitchell's:
