Historically, Vice-Presidents run for office and are sometimes elected. George Herbert Walker Bush, Al Gore, Walter Mondale, etc. Should Dick Cheney run for President in 08?

But he's already serving his second term as President!

I hope he runs. That should make it a lot easier for the dems to win.

I think it'd pretty much be a guaranteed victory.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, the next prez is going to be a Republican. Dick wont run, he's already secured his piece of the pie for ages to come.

What does that mean? People don't run for presidency to secure something...
Nobody knows who the next president will be, either republican or democrat. It depends much on who the democratic candidate is. Cheney himself repeated many times that he has no intention to run, but he can be president if Bush becomes incapacitated.

@ Rome

I am curious as to the rationale behind that statement.

I'd rather be Connemara than see Cheney as Prez.
