Just get snow leopard, it's pretty good and only like $35.
Well...its my dads computer. He must have it on the computers in his studio...so I would think if he actually wanted it, he would have installed it.
Is anybody installing?
For some reason the installer is downloading another 8 gigs. (Which makes sense since the pre-install was only ~7gb and the website says that a minimum of 15 gb is necessary).
by the way, if you downloaded the installer from battle.net, installed the initial 7 gbs, and then deleted the installer, then tried to run the Diablo III Setup.exe, it won't work (You will get unexpected decryption error). You'll have to redownloaded the 30mb installer thing from battle.net which will finish out the install.
make sure youre downloading the proper version, the old installer had some bugs and they had to update it.
Yah, I tried to install it from a previous download I had and I kept getting a #108 error around 10%. Now I'm just re downloading it through the installer and its just chugging away.
Can't believe the wait is almost over.
Going to be a DH to start - like the idea of running around with two crossbows dealing death.
I'm having some missing disc problems
Did a quick search and found a forum post that said it was happening right around the time pre-install went live but that it eventually started installing....
mine still hasn't
I had this issue. I eventually attempted to re-download the client, and that simply started my game install without having to do the client over again.
I still can't choose between the barb and the DH.
I might do a barbarian or a wizard. Not sure yet.
probably demon hunter or wizard...just <3 my ranged attacks too much.
Anyone know if there are any abilities like teleport/leap that will be helpful for things like late-game zooming around looking for loot/exp?
DH seems to have a bolt ability but I am not sure that can clear gaps like the barb/sorc used to be able to do. Might be nice on a second character once I am more familiar with the game...Nothing better than the day you get teleport on a sorc and can all the sudden teleport around the annoying crap (arcane sanctuary, mephisto, end of act 4)...and makes corpse runs so much better.
Teleport and leap will have cooldowns
Yep, so no more "tele to boss"-runs really. And besides, this game is built more around the champions/unique monsters that are randomly spawned, so clearing entire areas will be key.
I was hoping you could still tele-hop through areas and past mobs to find uniques...oh well.
Probably a welcome change since after playing a sorc, it really starts to be hard to not get frustrated with other classes.
I started the downloader again and it went through a full integrity check on the files and must have found something..now it is running and INSTALLING! (though it may not actually run on this computer )
the installer music is making me SO HAPPY
hmm, looks like I should be pretty close to the recommended specs on my laptop (llano A8-3530mx at 1.9ghz, 1080p screen, amd 6750m discrete and 6gb ram), although I might need to boost the clock on the llano to get all the eye candy. I might give it a shot, not sure if I can play it tethered at 3g speeds since it seems like you need an internet connection.
No more hammerdins, though? I did d2x singleplayer with a frenzy barb (whirlwind is probably better), and now am finishing it up again with a hammerdin (just about to do baal run). Hammerdins were way too easy - my barb was equipment dependent (not very good stuff) and stuck playing at 3, sometimes 5 players, but the hammerdin mostly cuts through at 8 players.
