1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

The download program uses a slow p2p/torrent like program or something so you won't get your max dl speed. (At least I didn't)

ugh, so tempting. if you haven't seen the "wrath" movie on their site, give it a go. i'm not a big fan of the anime styling, but it gives some background to the story. between that and the tv spot screencaps, here's some random speculation:

-the fallen star is imperius or tyrael being cast out of heaven
    - tyrael will be some sort of rogue agent cast out of heaven due to a disagreement with imperius, but still fighting for the good guys
-imperius is an angry dude and will die or become corrupted/join the dark side
-leah is somehow connected to bad demonic shit happening all the time
-diablo has a female host --> perhaps is leah?

i know the story is essentially an afterthought and will probably suck as bad as starcraft 2's, so the cinematics will be eye candy more than anything, but i know i'll still feel guilty if i watch them.

Has anyone done it? I've got a copy on reserve from gamestop but if its easier I may just purchase it online.

Buy it now on battle.net, you can begin the download. Also the downloaded lets you disable peer to peer.

Can you re-download it if something gets muffed up on your comp or you change comps?

Because sometimes disabling p2p is sometimes faster in my experience, at least with things like downloading WoW patches and such.

Yes all you have to do is login to battle.net and access the download link again. It's pretty nice, I've got my warcraft 3 linked up on my bnet account too.

Yeah, you can get old games from bnet now.

Kind of cool since I don't know where my diablo 2 media is (somewhere at my parents house) and I can still get it. Unfortunately I had lost my LoD disk and key before the bnet thing...so I can't get the expansion (which means you can't go above 640x480 resolution...).

No error, but when I run the setup the blizzard launcher kicks off but then I get....

"The fire from the sky still falls.
Diablo III has not yet launched."

You can pre-load regardless of where you buy it. I'm picking up a physical CE edition but have already pre-loaded the game.

As Kelv stated, come Monday morning you can finish the last patch (100mb) to actually install the game. At midnight PST, you can log-in to unleash years of anticipation.

The Diablo lore is one I actually find fascinating. I bought Cain's Journal and read through it when it first came out.

    I got general diablo question.

My friend and I are coming over from Diablo from WoW, we've never played. We normally group together but at times one of us levels faster than the other depending on play time availability. If our level differences become to great will we still be able to group together or is there an exp nerf that kicks in?

I don't know the exact specifics but I believe there will be an exp reduction with large level differences.

This is literally the only thing my roommate has been talking about the last couple months. I just bought an amazingly badass computer and it's supposed to arrive on the 15th so I feel like the timing is rather conducive to me giving Diablo a shot. To be honest though, I'm more excited about the new sim city coming out next year. Haha.
