Desperately in need of a new dress shirt brand...

Much to my chagrin one of my favorite shirt makers, Rufus Clothing, is no longer in business (has not been in business for at least a couple of years). I have tried other shirt brands (Thomas Pink and others), but detest plain, low quality, radically over priced shirts. I also don't want to head out to dinner only to find two other men wearing the same shirt (Robert Graham and all). Thus, I am looking for a new shirt brand. Here is what I like about Rufus and maybe someone can point me in the right direction:

Athletic cut
Tall spread collar
High quality fabric
Tall buttons that are bullet proof
Unique patters with out being "over the top"

Your guidance is greatly appreciated....

I'd recommend Ledbury to you. I've been a customer of theirs for a few years now. I think they would fit the bill on nearly all of your requirements (their buttons are good, but I wouldn't consider them "tall". Doesn't seem like a great deal to me.

Can get great fitting machine made shirts from Kamakura for like half that price...

And can get handsewn Barba shirts, etc, on ShoptheFinest for less than $145

Stenstrom makes an amazing shirt and I am moving my whole shirt wardrobe to them over time. They are a little hard to find in the states, but luckily a shop near me is stocking them now.

you could try thomas Dean, for the same sort of look.

I have never been a fan of the robert Graham busy. overly detailed shirts.

Kamakura and ledbury both make excellent shirts.
these two brands make much less detailed shirts then Rufus

I will hold my comments on the other two that were mentioned.

I have both ledbury and kamakura as staples in my rotation - they are excellent. Ledbury Alden collar is unique and versatile, kamakura button down is superior. Ledbury prices can be steep, so look for their frequent sales.

Also lookout for their emails and short run shirts... They come often and are quite tempting.

Kamakura store in New York is definitely worth an hour of your time if you are nearby.
