I've been considering buying a tie as a christmas gift. Which designer is considered higher end/higher quality?

Calvin Klein or Kenneth Cole NY?

Any input is greatly appreciated - thanks in advance

They are the same quality. You don't even have to spend $40-70 for a tie at this level. Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Filene's Basement, Loehmann's, etc all have skinny ties from these brands (and sometimes better brands) for $12.99 to $19.99. Macy's also sometimes has these ties on sale for 40% to 50% off retail.

should help a lot. he answered youre question...they are ****. and if youre price range is 40-70, you have the opportunity to get a real quality tie. check the b&s...i know for a fact theres a dozen ties in that price range.

As a matter of fact, they are both probably made in the same sweatshop, but with different tags attached to them.

If you are considering alternatives to the options you mentioned originally, check out www.thetiebar and SF members who sell ties. Tie Bar and at least one SF member I know of have attractive slimmer ties available.

I paid $66 for a Brioni tie at Off Saks during one of their sales a few weeks ago. Check and see if they have a sale going on. Their ties go on sale @30-40% off sometimes.
