I just came across this kind of jacket design that strange to me and it seem like it's only appear in Edwardian era and earlier.

Does anyone know what this is and does it have any difference between this design and the modern one?

It looks like the back of a frock coat or tailed evening coat. Modern military tunics also seem like they can have that design.
