denim leg opening vs. shoe size

It depends on the pant and shoe.

I'm 6'5", 175lbs, size 14 feet. Skinny, tall, big feet, but I can pull off a 7 inch hem.

With skinny openings one needs the right shoes and socks, and I think a decent amount of stacking in the jeans helps too. With those jeans, my calves are also "blowing out."

I make sure my shoes are also somewhat streamlined and narrow to avoid the clown shoe look. I think for me, the shoe is more important than the opening. I can wear the 7 inch, but I have a variety of openings that range from 7 to 9.5.
