Hey Guys! I am a new member here on StyleForum, I read on here a lot but until recently I had been procrastinating about making an account. Now that I have one I wanted to start a discussion: Distressed jeans or clean jeans? Most of my school friends can't stand distressed jeans and only wear brand new ones with no rips or wear whatsoever. But i also know some people who love distressed denim. I am interested in what you guys think! There is no right or wrong answer! As for me, i like mostly clean, but I do like some mild distressing of the pockets ans whatnot (I own a pair of Sub Zero Levi's 559s that I love). So, yeah! What do you think?

For every person who likes clean, you will find another who likes distressed.
My advice, go with what you like.

Agreed. Good advice, however simple!

But does anyone actively dislike 'clean' denim? Which implies it's the safer option.

It's not really disliking of one or the other, it's more about what you would rather wear. I'm just trying to start a conversation about the benefits of both and hear what SF has to say :)

There are no "benefits" of wearing denim. Clean or distressed.
You wear what you like when you like.

I understand, I am just trying to start a discussion on what people prefer.

Ok. Listen.
33.33% of the people prefer clean. 33.33% preferred distressed. 33.33% wear both.
Why? Because they either like the clean look or they like the distressed look or the rotate between the 2.

That's the discussion.

Not trying to kill your thread.....but you are overthinking this.

Some kids just wear Nike. Some wear Adidas.
Some wear baseball hats. Some don't.
Some wear hoodies. Some wear zip-ups.
Some actually do both.
Etc.

It's just personal preference.

Yeah, agreed. I guess I just wondered what everybody preferred, maybe have them show off some of their looks, whatnot. I agree, though. It is mostly preference.
