I'm buying some jeans from yoox, and I'm stuck with a store credit. I need black jeans as I don't have any now.
I had bought Diesel Poiak (http://www.yoox.com/us/42267018NV/item?dept=#sts=dreambox80&cod10=42267018NV&sizeId=) and they were very tight. My sizing is all over the place. I have a running back/athletic build. Often the waist is fine but the thighs don't work. Now I bought a 34L 34W, and the thighs were so tight it almost looked like spandex. The waist was a little snug. Is it uncommon to size up two sizes for Diesel?
I dont' want supberbaggy, but also I don't like the, well, nuthugging look, I'm somewhat trying to thread a needle here. What has worked:
Seven Standard (98% cotton, 2% spandex). In 34W Those fit perfect.
Levi Skinner/Hesher have worked too in a 36W, but had to get the waist taken in at some point as it widened.
I typically wear 34W and Medium garmets. Sometimes I'll go up to 36W, like the ultra-slim Calvin Klein dress pants, those I get in 36.
Bottom line:
Given how tight the 34Ws were, should I just go for the 38, and take in the waist, or is sizing one up to 36W good enough?
My alternative is to just buy a Nudie size 34. It's plainer, and looks like it has a slight shine, but I'm running out of options: http://www.yoox.com/us/42266927NM/item?dept=#sts=dreambox80&cod10=42266927NM&sizeId=

See if they have any Acne in black, either Mic or Max.

hey everyone, newbie here. finished school and landed a job. time to upgrade the wardrobe.

was wondering if the forum could give some recommendations as I have always had difficulty finding jeans.

Through college I pretty much wore 510s/511s exclusively. Although generally the 510s would fit too tight and the 511s would be slightly baggy for my taste. Skinny jeans are really the ONLY jeans that I like aesthetically, although at 5'10" 170lbs cheap mondays, etc. are usually too tight. Predicament for sure. I did have a pair of lucky superslim once which were great but they fell apart and lucky discontinued the model.

Suggestions on where to look? Would prefer to spend $100-150 but would spend up to $200 if they were perfect.

edit: maybe they don't HAVE to be skinny, but i just hate the feeling of unnecessary material moving around near my ankles...maybe that sensation is just a symptom of a poorly designed shape/cut

I think you might like the Rag & Bone RB23X (also known as the "Jay" jean). They aren't super tight in the thigh, but taper down pretty small at the ankle. Acne Max could work as well, though the RB are often cheaper at MSRP and last longer.

Also, try the newly released Rag & Bone RB19x. It's a little slimmer than the RB15x (most popular) but not as tight as the ones I recommended earlier. FWIW, I'd say buy the RB19x one inch larger than the RB15x and two inches smaller than the RB23x. For those posting in the MC forum, I think the overall aesthetic of these will be more desirable, as they don't have the "skinny-hipster-only-drinks-lattes-with-half-soy-milk-half-goat-milk" look.

Denim noobie here. I've been reading and reading here.

My concern is I drive an Audi with very light grey leather and I dont want to be cleaning the seats constantly.

Can anyone recommend a conservative, straight leg jean that looks similar to selvedge but is dark washed?

thanks

Best washed jeans under $200? Looking for all dem creases! Yeah, I know I know, you should wear in your jeans yourself, but some of us want washed jeans without having to wait 8 months.

I already have a pair of RRL washed once denim that fit nice, but I'm looking to vary up my jean collection a little. That being said I'm leaning toward the RRL low straight washed jeans as the front runner right now.

Looked at the RB15x but 8.5" leg opening blech, looking for 8" and under if possible.

Am I looking at the usual suspects, Naked and Famous, Nudie, APC, J Brand? Any others?

Hey all, im a bit of a noob at denim...

Recently I've had my eye on a pair of Nudie jeans but before I pulled the trigger, I was wondering if anyone might STRONGLY recommend alternative brands? IE: APC, Naked and Famous, etc
The only "premium" denim brands I have experience with are Diesel and 7famk.

I recommend looking into APC New Standard or 3Sixteen SL-100X. Both popular cuts on here.

thank you. im gonna take a look at them now.

P.S. I just came across the brand Momotaro, any thoughts?

Momotaro are some of the best denim you'll ever try.

But they're heavier, fade slowly, and the cuts don't work for everyone.

Looking to get first pair of nudies here! any help would be great.

http://shop.nudiejeans.com/en/product/917/dry-dirt-organic

OR

http://shop.nudiejeans.com/en/product/2105/org-dry-brokentwill

Questions:

- Difference between dry dirt organic vs dry brokentwill?
- Slim Jim vs Grim tim? (Another thread mentioned that Grim Tim= more thigh space but slim jim is looser??? how does that work)

I am looking for something slimming but not too tight (need room to breathe). I'm about 5'8-5'9, 160lb~ and a relatively slim but not skinny build.

I have been searching all over the forum, but haven't had much luck. I am trying to find some slim to skinny jeans with a roomier seat and a decent rise. I have had a tough time finding denim with a comfortable top block, because it seems nobody cuts for athletic, but slender builds.

Thanks will take a look. I feel the issues as much if not more in the seat then the thighs so I might just start sizing up and getting stuff tailored.

Hey Gents!

As I've donated all my jeans to charity and only have chinos I need to do a denim haul next week!

I'm looking at going for 3 pairs of jeans - 1 Dark wash and 2 Distressed - All Slim or Skinny

My Question is what do I go for? (Let's assume they all fit equally well)

A. 3 pairs of Levi's @ an average of R699 each

B. 2 pairs of Levi's @ R699 and 1 pair of G-Star @ R1900

C. 2 pairs of Levi's @ R699 each and 1 pair of Diesel @ R2200

D. 2 pairs of Diesel @ R2200 average and 1 pair of G-Star @ R1900

E. 3 pairs of Diesel @ an average of R2200

F. 2 pairs of Diesel @ R2200 and 1 pair of G-Star @ R1900
