Is this the correct term for the 3 button suit where the lapel stops at the top button? this style was so popular several years back with the 2 button and the 3 roll 2 being a bit more dated looking. the 3 button roll 3 was known to be more modern and lifts the chest up.

but now i see a prevalence of 2 button and 3 roll 2 and the look has a graceful and understated look. and is infused into the fashion world as well.

when i see a 3 button to roll 3 suit now all i can think of is macy's kenneth cole, ted baker Endurance, and hugo boss.

should we still keep those styled suits in our closet , perhaps the style will cyclically return again into fashion?

A 3 soft roll to 3 is iconic, and if not fashionable, so much the better.

The kind of 3 button where pressing machines hammered and tonged a severe crease into the top button, well, that always was f*cked.

So, can this be rolled to a 3/2.5? Or do I trash it?

^^^looks good to me but then again I always thought the 3/3 was classic, just not so good for shorter fellows like myself.

2 or 3 buttons will always be classic. Its like a captoe vs a wingtip. Even if tastes phase in and out, I don't see jackets with 3 buttons ever going extinct.

That said, there were way too many suits circa 1999 with the Steve Harvey crease

look at his poor kid, his dad made him wear that.

LOL @ translating baggy jeans to baggy suit pants. It doesn't work.
