does anyone out there really know what's going on with half priced, high-end clothes on Ebay and elsewhere? And I'm not talking about the Made-In-China "high end" that most people consider high end...I'm talking about the clothing that you and I know and appreciate..the brands here on Styleforum, i.e....Japanese..US and EU brands...for example, there seems to be a few sellers on Ebay currently selling brand new, half priced Post O'Alls clothing...mostly shirts... These are normally $250+ shirts being sold for $100+...they have no store tags and these sellers seem to be consistently adding new inventory from a handful of similar brands.....Whats the deal? Also, if you haven't already noticed, there is an uncontainable amount of new Rag & Bone clothing on Ebay...half priced of course...whats going on here? The stuff is not counterfeit...the Chinese wouldn't waste their time with relatively unknown brands like Post O'Alls....These are not sale items since these brands rarely if ever have "half-off" sales on their inventory.....My theory: this stuff is defective and being sold out of the back door of the factory. Even the high end US, Japanese (rare), and EU brands will make mistakes during the making of their high quality garments.....nobody's perfect...and I'm assuming that they have a stringent quality inspection process....but what happens to the garments that fail inspection? I believe that some of these makers do the right thing and recycle the clothing or even throw them away...but there are no laws in place preventing them from being sold to resellers....yes, even Post O'alls and Rag & Bone (a many many more)...Again, this is just a theory of mine...it makes no sense otherwise. Since I don't know for sure, can anyone out there confirm that this is what's going on? Anyone actually know of someone who has bought defective "seconds' from these makers? Any other theories? Again, I'm not talking about Ralph Luaren...we all know what's going on in China...I'm talking about the stuff that brings us here to this forum..all of them great labels...thanks
