Decorating footwear?

Has anyone attempted to go for a unique look or try to bring an old pair back into the rotation by decorating their shoe somehow? maybe stitching something onto them or pinning decorative things on them? maybe some permanent marker action or spray paint?

I don't have pics. But I had a pair of Nike high tops. And I didn't have $600 for a pair of metallic Lanvin high tops. So I found a bottle of silver spray paint at school and sprayed my shoes silver. I think i got a lot of compliments on them. And then after a while, I just put them away because I thought they were silly.

And that's because they were. And I most likely won't do it again.

Have your AF1's airbrushed at a county fair. This has got to be a joke. What sort of decorative things would you pin on on them? I suggest Purple Hearts or Cub Scout badges...maybe a diploma if you've got one.

Right after my last pair of chucks died, I had painted all the black parts shiny gold and then tied the laces and threw them into their 20 feet high grave. I had to admit, it looked awesome seeing a pair of gold shoes hanging from a wire. But I don't think I would ever wear them haha.
