Deck boots in Pacific NW- Quoddy vs. Sebago?

Greetings.

I'm debating whether to spend $300 on a pair of Quoddy deck boots. Lots of folks seem happy with Sebago's Lighthouse deckboot, which is obviously lower quality, but 1/3 of the cost. My inner cheapskate says I could get 2 pairs of Sebago in different colors and still have cash to spare! Any thoughts?

Also, I live in the rainy Pacific Northwest, and wonder how either deckboot stands up in wet winter weather. With the Quoddy, would a deck sole or camp sole hold up better?

Grateful for any insights...

How do you feel about spending money on non-essential goods during the Covid-19 crisis?

  • I don't want to spend money at a time of economic uncertainty, even if I could afford it.

  • I feel compelled to spend to help small businesses that are struggling.

  • I reduced my budget for non-essential goods and I'm not spending at the moment.

  • Not much has changed for me and I'm still buying stuff I can't afford.
