Where could I purchase a decent overcoat in London? It would be even better if there were any good double-breasted ones. I'm looking for a plain black/dark navy wool overcoat to wear this winter.

Burberry still makes classic single- and double-breasted wool or wool/cashmere overcoats. Edward Sexton has a superb RTW version of his greatcoat. Cad & The Dandy has a RTW greatcoat. I think Private White VC has a shorter style overcoat (a "Bridge" coat). New & Lingwood has winter coats and ought to be having a sale soon. Don't get black unless you are, actually, an undertaker.

Thank you all for your replies! Andy57, I did look at the Burberry range last year and found their double-breasted overcoat very nice. However, I cannot seem to find it on their product range this year!! They must've scrapped it... :(

I am looking at the Ede & Ravenscroft and New & Lingwood range as I have heard only good things about them. I will look into Crombie but their website, as you say, is not up at the moment.
