It's a great earring.

Eh, they're campy and mostly intended to adorn women's handbags. I don't find them any worse than any of the other designer pointless knick-knacks, like YSL's $50 safety pin, $220 LV or Chanel keycases, or $300 Hermes dog collars.

I've actually got a few of them: a robot, a flame, and a skull, that I received as gifts from a friend who worked for Prada Japan. They just sit in the boxes in my closet. They're cute little key chains, but I'd never pay that much for them (believe it or not, $88 is about half-price). I definitely don't think they're intended for most of the SF community, but I don't think they're THAT bad.

That makes me cranky, too. It's as bad as the tasteless Urban Outfitters Christmas ornament in the shape of a gun.

On Saturday I browsed at Hermes. They have tacky keychain ornaments for 85 euros that look like something you'd find at the dollar store or in a cereal box. The Prada robots were odd enough to be interesting, at least.

I'm pretty eager for the trend of people who are the softest little bitches ever adorning themselves in guns and skulls to disappear. The Photoshop "splatter" filters that were once the domain of ****** mid-'90s hardcore show flyers and have made their way to being standard fare for community college bookstore announcements can take a flying leap too.

Subversion for the subnorms.

Umm... I reiterate... these were mostly intended to be cute little accessories and keyfobs for WOMEN'S HANDBAGS or as kitschy little gifts. I grant that a little Prada bashing is fine now and then, but these are no worse than anything else put out by the major design houses (see both my and RJman's earlier posts). I'd agree if these were marketed to be used for men who like "ass kickin'" or for Trad fans or something... but really...

Drop these precious little idiots off in the part of town with a lot of bail bonds and check cash advance places. They are of absolutely no use to society. They'll be screaming for their X5s in short order. Useless eaters get out.
