Some interesting developments in DC over the weekend:
Filene's Basement at Connecticut Avenue and Mazza Gallerie received a new shipment from Mitchell's and Richard's. Mostly dress clothing; a lot of Canali. Definitely worth checking out. Filene's is also having a suit sale. At Connecticut Avenue, there is a rack of Corneliani suits, primarily sizes 42R and 44R, discounted from $800 to $600. Not a screaming deal, but not a bad one. Mazza Gallerie has a large selection of work-appropriate Brooks Brothers ties selling for $19.99. Might be worth picking up a few, particularly in light of no sales tax for purchases under $100 through August 13.
The F/W shipment has come in for department stores. Saks Mazza has started carrying Etro. Neiman-Marcus also carries Etro (and many of the same pieces), but unlike NM, Saks puts the entire store on sale during their seasonal closeouts. Neiman's Mazza has started carrying Kiton shoes. They are definitely drool-worthy. The price of admission to the club is not cheap: $2,250, or twice the cost of an EG special order. Whether they are worth it is for you to decide.
