I just received an e-mail stating that the Filene's Basements in DC (as well as those in Baltimore, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, State Street and Schaumburg) will be receiving a shipment from Barney's on April 3.

For the truly eager, sometimes the scheduled timing actually means Filene's gets the new stock out on the floor by the afternoon before. I know this happened at least once last year, where a supposed Monday start to a sale actually began on Sunday early afternoon, which was when the store staff finished putting everything out on the floor.

So how does Barneys decide what to send to its warehouse sale, outlet stores and outside jobbers?

It seems to me that Barneys send whatever left over from the warehouse sale to outside jobbers, and its own outlet stores doesn't get any sh!ts.

Was just in FB on Conn Ave for the Barney's stuff - a decent haul.

Lots of Ike Behar and Barney's brand shirts, a few Battistonis and a selection of sportscoats and outerwear. The Vacca stuff is still around, and is mixed in with everything else.

No shoes that I could see - just the Too Boot shoes from Bergdorf. I'd be curious to hear what Mazza Galleria looked like.

Intriguing pieces:
* Arnys dk blue 'Forestiere' coat in XL (too big for me - I'm a 44L and the shoulders were large)
* Interesting selection of odd trousers

Not sure what else, but there was a decent abundance of stuff, and Barney's-brand shirts, garments were fairly heavily discounted (shirts @ $30 or $40 depending on fabric, etc).

Hope this helps - and someone tell me what I missed @ Mazza.
