OK, last question for the day... I have a beautiful DB suit that I fear I will never be able to be quite skinny enough to wear again. Is it possible to alter the jacket to a SB (with quite smart peaked lapels, as a bonus)? Holding it in that position in front of a mirror, it really doesn't seem to look out of shape at all - it actually looks like it would fit perfectly that way. Is it as simple as having the buttons removed/re-placed and fixing the button-holes (if that is possible), or am I nuts?

    Thanks,
    John

I've heard of DBs being recut as SB. but not simply being worn as SB. The coat front bottom corners will be square, whereas they should be curved. The wrap will look "off" I think no matter how you wear it. Take it to a tailor and let him have a look.

I just realized the problem with the jacket corners... Forgot about that. It may still be worth a shot, though.
