Some friends and I are going to be in the Daytona Beach area for a week or so in the middle of June. Any suggestions on what to do, where to go, etc?

There really isn't much to do in Daytona except go to the beach or go to the Speedway. Basically, if your trip itinerary includes drinking heavily, sunburn, skanky women, and partying you'll be go to go.

Bolded bits sound swell. Any place in particular we should check out, or just the beach?

Nothing that I would go out of my way to recommend. As some locals once you're on the beach and they'll point you in the right direction. Depends on the day of the week as well.

Ocean Walk and the Boardwalk

Best actual beach to visit is south Daytona aka Ponce Inlet take A1A south till it ends. There's a lighthouse there you can go up as well. I wouldn't say this is where you'll find the most chicks and stuff on a regular weekend, but it's very nice beach with a jetty and some surf if there's a swell.

Lots of old people around there most of the time. It's not nearly as glamorous as you might expect. You can try hitting Aunt Catfish's for dinner one night - will probably be busy so get reservations. I'd also go back to the NASA facility south of Daytona in a heartbeat, esp. with youngsters. Cool stuff.

Was told by a waitress to check out some place called "SickBoys Bad Habit Lounge" tonight. Any of you ever been there? Thoughts?

I can think of a gazillion other places I would rather go than Daytona Beach. That said, I was there for spring break just over a decade ago and remember lots of drinking, puking, and random hook-ups. But that was spring break.

You're doing it wrong.
