WHat is the deal with it? I mean why is it being pushed forward. We don't start tog et more sun till a certain time and I can't see why it has to be moved. There are only 24 hours in a day, so why does it need to be moved? Can anyone help me with this please?

For anyone who didn't feel like clicking on links and opening new windows, etc., I think the idea was that people would conserve more electricity if there was more daylight savings time in the year. I don't think it makes a difference, really, but I guess if the sun goes down later then you don't turn on your lights until later. A pretty minimal difference when you consider all the other energy usage that won't be affected by this.

^ yeah, okay, but what about the mornings? The sun won't rise (under DST) 'til an hour later, so it is darker in the mornings and I have to turn on lights Sunday morning that I didn't have to use Saturday. Isn't the energy usage merely being shifted?

It's annoying. If the energy saving argument is so bloody strong, why not keep the clocks ahead the whole year?

I hate DST. Congressional meddling at its worst.

Or they could just make Al and Tipper move into a 2-bedroom and leave everyone else alone.

If you find DST distasteful, you could always move to Saskatchewan or Nunavut ...
