Hey guys. This is my first post so if this should be moved or something like that I apologize.

I came across this blazer on eBay and know (from here) that the seller is reputable.

My question is, is this a good deal for the blazer? Also, I read on here that Chu blazers run a bit large. I am closer to a 40R than a 42R, is my tailor going to be able to work with this to give me a good fit?

Thanks for all of your help.

It could be argued that the more critical measurement is the shoulders (which are very difficult to adjust) than the chest (which is comparatively easier).

The seller has provided the actual measurements of the jacket, so if I were you I would compare these against a jacket that you already own and that fits you well, to get a better take on the scope of the alteration job. If the measurements are comparable then a good tailor can probably make it work with minor adjustments, If they are more than say a couple of inches out then major surgery is required and you've got to ask yourself if it's worth the expense and risk.

I got a very nice herringbone sports jacket off ebay recently for about $50, picking it up from the alteration tailor today and hoping she has transformed it from a baggy New England university pipe and beard history professor look to a more modern slim fitting look. Watch WAYWRN in the near future!
