Too many people saying, "I'm Rick James, b****."
I took a class about television comedy, and my professor, who is writing a book on black stand up comics specifically, saw Chappelle a few times last year for research. Â She said that he actually cut his stand up performance short at a couple of venues because of too many people in the audience yelling "I'm Rick James, *****." and the Lil' Jon stuff, "YEEAAAH," and "OKAAAAAY.". Â He's said that that stuff is his television stuff and he wants people to come to his stand up shows expecting just stand up.

I saw him live twice before the whole Rick James skit. Â His stand-up is excellent. Â I hate that this has happened to him.
I heard a CD version of "Killing em Softly" a year or so before his show came out and I remember thinking it was one of the best stand up routines I had heard in a long time, though most everything these days is a rehash of Eddie Murphy "Raw", and that includes Chappelle. But like you said, his stand up is great. Eric
Yeah I've seem Killing 'em Softly on HBO several times. very funny. It was actually filmed here in DC, Chappelle's hometown.

Does Wayne Brady have to choke a b***h?
LOL. Actually, CC should get Wayne Brady to host...that would be funny. Jon.

Haha. Â Thats my favorite skit/episode they have done, it would be pretty funny if they actually did it. Â They should include a skit on "Crazy Dave Chapelle in Africa" Eric
Did you guys like that Wayne Brady skit? Â That was my LEAST favorite skit of his. Â My favorites are Clayton Bigsby, Rick James, and the Making of the Band where Chappelles played Puff Daddy. BTW- Season 2 is out on DVD May 24th. Â I bet it sells out everywhere by lunchtime.

Article in Saturday's NYT says Comedy Central has not heard from him now in two weeks, and is assuming the show isn't happening.

Either a great publicity stunt or sad-but-true, you decide.

I can't believe these skits haven't been mentioned yet:

'Mad Real World' (My name's Tyree...and yeah, I went to prison)

'Third World Girls Gone Wild'

'Racial Draft' (Wow, that's the first lottery a black person's won in a long time.)

'Samuel L Jackson Beer' (It'll get you drunk. You'll be f*****g fat girls in no time. You might even fight a N**** or two.)

'Wu Tang Financial' (You need to diversify yo' bonds, N****)

'Tyrone the Crackhead' (You wanna know what dog food tastes like? Do you? It tastes just like it smells... delicious.)

'Great moments in hook-up history'

'Trading Spouses'

'O'Dweeds' (Wrong bag, man.)
