    Lol Arnach; great pic.

I'm actually not a big Obama fan (I haven't decided whom I've voting for yet), but I just stumbled across that Obama graphic and thought it would be a fun one to post next to yours.

Cheers! Anyway, back to the shoe-off!

This whole 'Portnoy has a huge dick' business is a little off-putting...

    Did anyone say that?

He has a lot of expensive shoes. That is all.

Oh, and he is savvy enough not to spend full retail when he can avoid it. This idea that sale shoes a sign of inferiority reminds me of the joke about the Russian oligarchs bragging about who spent more on their tie.

    Well, who spent more?

I seriously thought daskb was 12 or 14 years old until reading his post where he claims he is 42. Incredible.

Yes. It's one thing to own a lot of expensive shoes, but that is not all BP, AR, S et al are saying. I can't speak for Portnoy, but I don't buy expensive shoes so I can pwn noobs, nor would I be particularly pleased to be entered into some large dick contest.

Because of the way I'd feel about this if it were me, I'm at least a little taken aback at the lack of restraint on the part of some of these posters (though BPs involvement is not at all surprising).

I also find the idol worship distasteful.

Are you happy to see me or is that a Chukka Boot...
    Well, who spent more?
Dialog of two nouveau-riches met on the street: -- How much did you pay for that nice necktie of yours? -- $1,000. Spent entire day looking for a good price all around the city! -- You're such a loser! You should've asked me first. I know a small store around the corner: they sell the very same ties for $2,000!! --------------------------------

    Well, who spent more?

Assuming you are serious, the joke goes like this.

Two Russian oligarchs meet accidentally in a Moscow bar. They are both expensively dressed and happen to be wearing the same tie. One says, "Nice tie." The other proudly says, "It cost me 5,000 rubles!" Then the first one beams triumphantly and says, "Ha! Mine cost me 10,000!"

Neither does he. He buys them because he is nuts.

Man, I hope that dude drinks more scotch and post's pics.
That was so much fun while watching the Olympics....blood was in the water.

Even if he is a troll, and is using copped pics, its funny to see the defense in the testosterone fueled manner that he presents....I am way too easily amused.

That guy is pretty entertaining in a "I have no idea what's about to happen to me" kinda way. But he does have a point about the cheerleaders for aportnoy being a little over the top.

I did decide to take a trip down memory lane through some of the shoe damage just to refresh my memory, and at second glance, other than a ton of really nice JL museum calf shoes and a few EG dovers, I'm really not that enamoured with his collection. I'm pretty sure I've seen nicer stuff in the shoe damage thread. Just my $0.02

Maybe people here are just overwhelmed by the sheer volume of brand names he purchases that are admired by forumites... but how is that any different from this other guy?

Geesh... what a wet blanket. We're just having a bit of fun joking around, that's all. If it is so distasteful, certainly there are many other threads around that you can view.

Chabibi...Some "jokes" are just anecdotes to get a point across.
