Hi All,

I'm planning on getting a suit from Maxwell's, one of those travelling HK tailors (www.maxwellsclothiers.com). Was looking at their styles of suit jackets and I'm sorta confused. Particularly at the two-button jacket, they have two styles as per below (yes...the photos from their website look like they're from the 80's..):

J-1.jpg

J-1
Classic Two Button, Notch Lapel, Lower Flap Pockets

J-5.jpg

J-5
Conservative Two Button, Notch Lapel, Lower Flap Pockets, No Front Darts, Natural Shoulders

I would like a slim fitting suit, and assuming they get my measurements right, which one of the above (J-1 or J-5) would be it? From the descriptions, the J-5 does not have front darts, whereas the J-1 does...I'm guessing the darts form a more V-like shape and looks more boxy than anything. Would a jacket with no front darts (the J-5) achieve the slim suit look I'm looking for? The J-5 also appears to have less shoulder padding as well... Thanks.

Darted, absolutely. If you specifically want slim, chances are you going for a darted aesthetic.
