I remember seeing a pic on here of a celebrity wearing a rather plain, but good looking pair of jeans with interesting darts behind or on the side of the knee...anyone know what brand these may be?

If you're talking about the Jake Gyllenhaal picture, I don't recall that one ever being resolved. We all insisted that they're something mediocre, Rhuel, A&F, etc.

Anyway on that note, I do believe that some Prps jeans have darts in the knees.

I never really understood the reasoning for darted knees. Jeans already stretch out in the knees if you wear them, so why put the silly looking darts in?

I have an old pair of off-white G-Stars that are darted at the knees. There is also some fabric change or reinforcement at the knee. I don't feel like digging into the back of my closet to look closer, but they were OK, not as wierd as it sounds. Probably perfect for carpet installers.

thats called an articulated knee. the darts form a pocket of extra space for the knee to enter. often find this on ski pants and rock climbers jeans. gives one more freedom of movement.

sometimes the articulaction is accomplished by cutting a seperate section for the knee area instead of darting.
