D'Artagnan/Prairie Hills Farms beef....

So my butcher put me on to some of this over the weekend. Very tasty, he mentioned it was grass finished and that it was PH Farms beef relabled by D'Artagnan. I checked D'artganan and their site says their beef is from Oregon, and Ph is in Wisconsin. It also says that the beef is exclusive to D'Artagnan, and it looks like PH sells to the public. So any idea what the D'Artagnan beef is? my butcher only got the tenderloin and ribeyes, would like to try some other steaks. Price wise it's pretty cheap, even ordering direct from D'Artagnan (about $18 a pound) which I found very surprising, especially after ordering some Flannery beef a few weeks back.

I know their Kobe is Brandt. I find d'Artagnan's quality, overall, to be excellent, and their service could not be better. A few times this year the storms kept something from getting to us on a Friday, and they replaced, at their cost, with Saturday delivery, without us making any stink at all.

yeah, I do like their stuff and my guy has mostly only been getting their pork and chicken, he is now getting their beef and I was impressed with it. There seems to be a 13 pound boneless striploin that I may need to get for a barbeque/get together this summer. Just surprised at the relative inexpensiveness.

I prefer Partos pork or D' Montecristo chicken. Dostoevsky pickles are also nice.

I'll have to check out D'Artagnan's Kobe beef. I have only tried their duck, chicken, quail, buffalo, and bacon--all of which are excellent.

I remember way back when you were trumpeting costco beef and trashing Loebels... you know that D'Artagnan supplies many high end butchers like Loebels, right?

You got me confused young man. From day one I have trumpeted Florence Meat Market in the village in NYC, never mentioned anything positive about Costco beef. I will continue though to trash Loebels on their pricing, particularly when they are priced way above d'artagnan/Flannery.

Ive had just about every flying beast that D'Artagnan sells but I don't think I've ever had the beef.
