I am looking for a dark brown pair of wholecut's, maybe a wingtip maybe a brogue. Something with a little pattern. I like the look of the AE Fairfax for example, only they don't come in the right brown.

Another example (I may end up getting these, looking for other options first though):

I was hoping to stay under $500 but if I found the right ones I could be swayed.

Any ideas?

Been looking at these shoes myself and can't afford most of them...

Alfred Sargent Connaught looks nice imo...

but C&J Weymouthis just delicious....

Too bad its just too rich for me

I was looking into getting a pair of wholecut dress shoes last year.

Hoever, during my research here, I found many people stating that they crease a lot and the creases are fairly visible. I have since changed my mind.

Didn't think of that. Is that still the general consensus? Is there any color that wouldn't show the creases so bad? Like maybe dark brown

How does Bexley rank compared to other English shoe makers?

How would they rank compared to Alden or Allen Edmonds?

I would say that they rank at a lower level than C & J or Alfred Sargent - possibly at the same rank as a better grade of Loake. I bought them not for the quality of construction, but for the fact that they were the first pair of wholecuts that I'd ever seen that were sleek, not blobby (at least to my tastes) and were economically priced (I think that they're on sale for 119 euros, down from 129 euros normally - two for 199).

They are made in Portugal, and are certainly superior in construction to Mezlan or its ilk, but not in a class with Alden or AE.

Of course wholecuts crease. But it's not any different than any other plain-front shoe: monks, PTBs, certain boots.

Weymouths are still the shit. If you are spending more than $300 on a wholecut, forget the contenders. Save up for weymouths.
