Dark brown sport coat matching help

What does a dark brown / black houndstooth sport coat match with, pants wise? Black? Light tan? What about black shoes? (I still haven't found non-black shoes I like).

Assuming that you have something like this:

...then just about any colour pants will work. Personally, I would avoid black shoes with this but that's a personal preference. Consider burgundy shoes.

It's actually more like the color of that tie. I don't mind the combo that actor has (see attached), but I wouldn't wear it during the day.
