I always like Gramercy Tavern. I did a tasting menu there a couple of years ago that was great.

I, as well.

The bar there is very good too. If anything, his establishments breed some very very awesome folks for the industry. Gramercy is one of those 'solid' guaranteed to get a good meal places for me. Sure it's not on anyone's 'It's only cool if it's Chang's place' trendy list, but there is no discounting this places food and service.

I've only been to three of his establishments and they have been great food experiences on the whole.

Eleven Madison Park remains one of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

Gramercy Tavern offers some fantastic food for the money.

Shake Shack is great for some burgers, dogs, and shakes when the line isn't crazy long and if it is, then head to the B-Line for a concrete (think DQ Blizzard but MUCH better).

Now that I think about it, the two best 'lunches' Ive ever had were at Meyer joints....EMP and Gramercy.

I also had dinner at Eleven Madison Park a few weeks ago, on a whim, was at Brandy Library at around 9pm on a Tuesday, called up a few places that were more casual after walking over to Locanda Verde and laughing at the line. Called up EMP and they said they had a table for 4 that just cancelled, we explained we were in nice jeans and nice shirt, would that be appropriate? they said 'sure!' we went, and they gave us a great table, we got one of the last ducks left.....we left at almost 1am and a few bottles of wine later. Great service great food.

I've eaten at Gramercy Tavern three times, but have never liked it. The food is okay, but the overall experience has always been meh for me.

I've eaten at Eleven Madison Park once, and loved it. It was one of the best dining experiences I had during my week of NYC dining back in July.

Not a hipster. Most hipsters are a subcategory of foodies anyway.

I'm unclear as to what exactly is a foodie.
