im looking for a tv stand/credenza in a 'eames era' danish design style. can people please educate me what actually makes 'danish design'? are there classic pieces still being made? any reputable manufacturers, either vintage or modern?

is 'danish inspired' the same as 'cheap knockoffs' etc

It combines the functionality of Bauhaus design with a more tolerant definition of formal simplicity. It's a bit more craftsmen-focused than German design because Denmark had a lower industrial capacity for mass production. More of the designs are dependent on handmade elements in natural materials/tools which translate to slightly more whimsical and "fun" forms that are responsive to the character of the material (like the flexibility of woods and wire).

Georg Jensen and Bang & Olufsen are two danish companies which get a lot of attention for their design(s). Check out their webpages.

Danish inspired does not have to mean cheap knockoff--just means its not actually danish.

As for classic pieces still being made, there are many--but probably nothing "classic" would be anywhere near what you are looking for as a TV stand.
