Damaged my new bow tie, fix?

I just bought myself a bow tie and in the process of learning to tie the damn thing I kind of damaged it.

Should I ignore it or maybe try to fix it with a pair of scissors or a box cutter? I'm afraid I'll damage it more...

You have to get punished. Get locked in the basement for a year .. or two.

I get the occasional fraying on mine.

I usually get it as close as I can with sharp cuticle scissors.

Sell it on e-bay for $100 as a "pre-distressed" bow tie.

I think I'll try to scissors thing, with extreme caution.

use a razor (shaver)

very typical of woven bowties. just use a razor as suggested and don't pull the know so tight.

I actually wore my bow tie this weekend and I noticed that when I had it on, all the "damaged dots" were on the backside

Though I will try to restore it anyway. A razor seems dangerous. I'll post pics of the result later this week
