Dainite soles in Florida?

Question - I found a pair of shoes i really like on clearance. I like the price, the fit and the color.

However, they have Dainite studded rubber soles. I am south Florida. These shoes will never see snow or mud or dirt or the cold. At most, they will see serious summer rains and puddles.

Is a Dainite Studded rubber sole just silly for Florida?

I read they wear well and are well liked. And I am fine with rubber soles on dress shoes if they look good.

Should i just put my current shoe addiction aside for a moment and wait for the next model?

Any opinions?

Thanks.

I'm in your neck of the woods and I've got a couple pair with Dainite soles just for the wet stuff, and they come in handy if you ever plan to venture off of pavement when it's wet (and when you're 'dressed'). But they're on boots, not shoes. Not silly.

I've nothing against rubber outsoles...for what they are.

But they are not "dressy" by any means and make a pair of dress shoes look a bit "above their station," as who should say.

The inescapable impression is that if you're cheap enough or so "positioned" that you worry about the soles of your shoes, a relatively dressy and expensive pair of shoes may be both frivolous and pretentious.

Just my opinion....

I'm in Florida and have suede Chelseas from Meermin with dainite soles. Chelseas can ride the line between formal and casual so the soles are versatile in that context and quite comfortable compared to leather soles.
