Lovely shoes. Let's see more of what you have! I love those Hartts from the 1958-68 era. Do you have any John McHales? As well could you post a photo of the coding on the military cap-toes. I am not familiar with that heel. I wonder who made them.

In the 1970's McHale produced a line of exotic leather shoes that they called the John McHale Caravan Collection. I own an elephant leather pair, and I had previously posted a photo of a seal skin pair. Yesterday a Kudu antelope pair showed up on Ebay. I wonder if there was an alligator pair, or lizard, or shark......

My elephant pair are in at Coakley's in London right now for a rebuild. They are getting JR soles and heels, brass toe-taps and some interior liner work. I will have them back before Christmas.

Here are the Kudu pair, and a photo each of the elephants and seals. The Kudus have a slightly different design than the seals and elephants.

Govt build. And basic at that.

No serial at all. Just the severely faded vinyl label on the tongue. It isn't CF, so I assumed RCMP

Florsheim by McHale. I really like this model, and have seen the same style made by the US factory.

Sole protectors and cat paws have reinforced their ability to be worn in all conditions.

Only found 2 of these beauties ever. One needed a little sanding fix, other one was beautiful unworn from '91 or so.

Jump Boots or Garrison boots, worn with DEUs, bloused. Only issued to these folks.

CANSOFCOM, RCR types.

Nowhere near the level of shine they are at when in uniform.,

Just came across this thread from a recommendation by @goatamous II and some help with identification from @dadjeans.

Found these yesterday and wasn’t familiar with McHale made Florsheim until dadjeans pointed out what they were. Any other experts in here care to offer an opinion on this pair.

They seem to be NOS (new old stock) and size 10 I believe.

See where it say ...E10...

That's a 10 E, or 10 wide. My perfect size., next to 10.5C I guess., assuming nos.

I'm not so much a plain toe guy, but anything else I may be interested in. I just found out aout the thread a few days ago myself lol.

They are actually 10EE. 2E10. McHale was weird with some of their markings. Why would they use 2E rather than EE, but that's what they did.

My son's size. Hmmmm.

Is EE narrow @Jiqea ?

They would be a double wide. D is medium, E is a single wide, EE double wide, right up to EEE.

In Canada an F is equivalent to an EE and a G is like a EEE.

C is a single narrow, B double narrow, A triple narrow, and AA and AAA are really f-ing narrow.

My understanding is that each letter is equivalent to an 1/8 inch difference in width. Someone here might correct me on that.

Cool.

Never new that 2 meant anything.

Best guess: If their stencil stamp was only 4 digits, they wouldn't be able to stamp EEE then, 3E10 would work. Pretty cool.

Comment: You said "in Canada" for the naming of widths, interesting. I know for Military footwear the F, G, H designation was used yes, but otherwise for civilian Canadian footwear, I haven't seen that, of course my exposure is very little.

Why wasn't this one stamped an F then if by your words you say it was a Canadian standard?

Aside: Of course I ate my words today. I said I don't like plain toes, yet bought a florsheim imperial plain toe lol. I decided it was the 3 hole casual feel and bulbous "old dad" toe box that I didn't dig. The Imperials still have some dressiness with the extra lace holes and the sleeker toebox, in this blue collar workers eyes. Sorry.
