I picked up a pair of Size 8 D McHale made Florsheim Imperials today. They were in pretty tired condition, but they cleaned up alright. Lots of miles left on them.

A before shot and a couple of afters. The colour should even out when they dry up a little more overnight.

^Transformed! They look excellent. Nice choice of laces for them, too. Your end of town produces so well!

Yesterday I found a nice pair of Bond Streets, and a Canadian made pair of NOS McGregor's. Those take me back to the days when mom bought all my socks for me!

Also, a kickass pair of NOS Canadian wet weather combat boots. Fully gusseted tongue, and Vibram sole. My size! :) There was also a pair about size 10D, maybe 10.5D. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Here is a bit more on Nugget Shoe Polish. It seems to have been available around the world, especially in Commonwealth countries. There were several factories, one of which was apparently in Canada.

Here are a few more images. The brush is for sale from Ontario on eBay right now.

The local Value Villages occasionally put out small bags of vintage shoelaces in the knitting supply area. I have managed to pick up a lifetime supply of useful lengths, colours and styles at an average cost of about .24 cents. If you get skunked for shoes you can often get a small win by finding laces. My tip for the day is that you should know where the shoe trees and the laces are shelved in your own stores. I learned these skills at the feet of Master Thrifter @Paul902

I added to my collection yesterday. Based on the MSRP being 29 cents for 3 pair, we may be getting ripped off. If only someone would do God's work and take up the mantel of researching vintage Canadian laces....

The size was generally OK but I didn't pick them up -- they felt too bulky, the toe is slightly more square than I'd prefer and could feel a break-in would be required on the inside top

I meant to re-sell. I bet you could list them and get 70-80 pretty easy. I have found that nice safety shoes sell well.
