I have two pairs of white dress shoes. A pair of Crockett & Jones Short Wing brogues and a pair of Florsheim loafers. You need to be in the right mood to wear them, and to be OK with a bit of attention. Wine helps!!

I'm hosting The Lizard King and His for supper tonight. Talk of shoes, blues, and other news, he's going to bring his dance moves. The pizza dough is rising, and the turntable is ready to roll. I haven't a thing to wear, because I'm on the dole. By the end of the night we won't know whose shoes are whose, but that is fine, we'll be drinking wine on down on Heartattack and Vine...Later, 'gator!

I am thinking I might be slipping my toes into some camels tonight. It's a big decision. Maybe a pair of whole-cut water-bisons. My only lizards are loafers that lie around in the sun. I thought about stepping out of character and wearing a pair of my fine English shoes. It will all depend on which pants fit me.

I completely forgot that I haven't seen those whole cuts! I know that one way or another you are going to out-shoe me, but I'm neither going to fold nor try to compete. It'll depend on what I wear, as well. Pics to follow, gents!

Came across these today, I once had a pair with similar markings like this on the heels and they were made by Hartt although Im not sure as the inner writing is similar to some McHale's ive had cross my desk over the years.

This store in Windsor sells Canada West shoes and boots. I want to get a pair of those service looking boots. Made in Canada and cheaper than Viberg.

Ok for skill testing question for a Sunday afternoon. Here is a pair Dack's oxblood wingtips size 9F spotted today at VV. They have clearly had a very hard life - the Dack's name was worn off the sock inside but they were stamped Made in Canada. I'm curious how to decode the codes inside to determine the age and the material used. Did Dack's make many shoes from cordovan? I left these on the shelf but figured I'd see what others could teach me. Only other half decent pair in the store was a pair of black leather tassel loafers from Dack's missing a tassle and some of the leather braid around the upper edge otherwise I would have picked those up. Clearly its nothing likely Ottawa in terms of vintage shoes here in T.O.

That is the maroon coloured calf with the "hand waxed finish" An 80's creation of corrected calf with a sort of latex coating. Not Dacks finest hour. Here is the coding from a similar pair:
    02086 1 3804 45 84
The 02 indicates the colour. If the 0 wasn't there it would be a brown shoe.

9F is a size that works for my wide flippers. And normally I would be flipping out if anyone left behind a pair in my size. But given the condition, and the fact they are the polished leather (similar to corrected grain), I will let this one slide.

I am doing a thrifting run on Friday and hope to have some goodies to send to Marius for consignment. Bonus if anything in my size.

Here are the ostrich and waterbison S.E. Dacks that just arrived today. They are size 11E, so a bit to big for me, but thankfully way too big for @Paul902. The welts are all hand stitched. Just amazing shoes.

If they were your size they would already be in the mail. These shoes are just freaking so cool.

I have a pair of size 12 D Camel Dacks Derbys coming in late next week. Stay tuned.
