I bought a pair of these jeans online. I usually wear 32x30 size jeans but the pair I was sent were 32x46 and the legs are extremely baggy. Will washing them sufficiently shrink the diameter of the legs so then I could get them hemmed or should I send them back? To rephrase: Is the diameter of the leg independent of the inseam size?

Send them back. Most jeans these days are pre-shrunk, as to advoid serious shrinkage during further washes. Are the jeans really 46 length, I didn't even know they made them that long?

If they're straight-leg jeans, the diameter shouldn't be greatly affected by length. With any sort of a flare, as with boot-cut jeans or wider, it's going to make a bigger difference. Try cuffing the jeans to the appropriate length and checking the ankles. If the width looks good to you, just have them hemmed.

Mike, yeah they are... it says so on the tag and there about an extra 10"-12" of fabric after my feet.
