Hello Gents,

As the title states, have any of you had any experience wearing a cutaway spread collar with no tie? --- Does it work?

I'm less concerned about the aesthetics and more so having it work with under a blazer. IE fitting properly within the jacket collar.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have done that on occasion. The collar always worked fine with my jacket lapel.

As long as it can stand up on its own without concern of it dropping down underneath the lapel throughout the day, I see no issue with it and actually prefer it to a semi spread.

I usually get cutaway collars on my shirts and often wear them without ties. Haven't had any issues.

If you're concerned about it maybe you could just ask the tailor to make the collar with a slightly stiffer fabric or something, never tried that but just throwing it out there
