Agreed. I'm curious to see how a 55 lasted service boot would ultimately look. My feeling is that it would be fine, and to have the MP with the 55 fit would be so sweeeeet for my feet.

Ah, I now see that Sambam posted several examples of brand new 55 lasted service boots a dozen or so pages back. They look great.

They look great! Congrats man!

I definitely favor half soles with their uninterrupted heel stacks. Well done,

That last has lower arch support than the 55 and 4811 lasts, right? Really great texture on that leather!

Here’s something I’ve always wondered. Is it possble to get White’s boots such as the bounty hunter/smoke jumper resoled to either double or single without changing the shape of the boot, meaning it’s not going to make the boot wider or alter the last? I mean, you're just reducing or adding the size of the sole. That shouldn’t be a problem, right? Help me out here as this has puzzled me for some time.

Case in point, I have a double midsole smokejumper. Now, I love the look and feel of the boots, however, I know I can’t keep this sole as I get older. I will probably need a resolve to single sole.

I’m lost here.

I don't see why not. It's just another layer of leather midsole, so it should be easy enough to swap for a single during a resole I'd imagine.

Just out of curiosity, what don't you like about the double midsoles? I have quasi-double midsoles on my commando soled MPs and BHs and I like them a lot. My next pair I might go for the mythical triple midsole (double midsole + Vibram half comp).

Random question, but does anyone have any recommendations for leathers that Whites has available for foul weather like rain and snow? Wax flesh is kind of the obvious choice, but I was wondering if they had anything else that might fit the bill. Looking to get another boot made for the winter season even though its a ways off.

I have the triple midsole, half composite. I’m 34 and I don’t see myself keeping the triple sole as I get older due to the heaviness of the soles overall.

Here are my black bullhide smokejumpers.
