You could just get natural edge color, which is not that dark and in my experience washes off pretty quickly in a wet climate. In fact a good scrub with a wet scrubby sponge would probably be as effective as sandpaper to remove it faster :-D
I don’t think I want to wait a over half a year for a MTO just for a different edge color … whatever they give me I’m fine with.. in this case looks like a dark brown color

C.F. Stead makes some fantastic leathers, so that's very cool. Kudu White's would be very neat.

the green is likely waxy commander - more like a lightly waxed suede than the standard waxed flesh (which is waxed roughout)

Strange request here: does anyone live in the NYC area in this group and wear MP’s in a size 10(D/E/EE)?

I have some 9.5E’s that are suddenly fitting small on me. Feels a bit bizarre. They have always been somewhat snug, but over the past few months, they have started to feel mis-sized. I’d love to try on some 10’s to compare, but obviously, there’s nowhere to easily try on, outside of seeing if Baker’s has any try-on pairs available (which likely won’t be MP’s).

I am very familiar with CF stead’s leathers. I am hoping the green pair is stead’s “saddle leather”

Truman offered it one time as a 1 off makeup and I jumped on it instantly awhile ago. It’s essentially a thick rough out that’s waxed and then tumbled or milled I believe. It’s some very very unique stuff. Maybe I can edit a picture in here of it.

You are in Brooklyn, right?
I would look for a cobbler to stretch your boots. I haven’t done it but at one point I considered sending one pair of White’s for stretching in the toe areas.

Yeah, a cobbler is certainly in the plans. But, my past experiences with having boots "stretched" have been pretty marginal. To the point that I've wondered if they are even doing anything at all. Trying on the next size up just seems like a good exercise. It really is so difficult when there's no easy way to try on boots. Some brick and mortar options (outside of flying to the PNW) would be so helpful.

Did you buy your boots from Baker's?
I would ask if they could stretch your boots.

Has anyone bought shoe care products from Shoe polish supply? They are based out of Illinois.

Just ticking off the 3 month mark for the Packer 690 red dog build ... time seems like it's evaporating these days!

Where are others at along their build timeline?

Cheers,

I just ordered a pair of custom whites off Bakers' site... never ordered from whites or bakers before. Is the 5-6 month lead time usually pretty accurate or do they tend to make them slower or faster?

5-6 months is the 'normal' time frame these days. I ordered a pair of White's around Father's day sale and I would be happy to get them by the end of the year lol
Folks have mentioned it didn't take that long before the pandemic.

When I ordered my first pair it was four weeks, and that seemed like an eternity.

'twas a simpler time...
