I think that ship has sailed where kilties are concerned@Jimk4003 , it wouldn’t hurt to look cool
It wasn’t my idea. I’m pretty sure I picked it up from someone on the Ironheart forum. Our in-house expert, @klank74 , came up with this idea, the false tongue doesn’t stay in its place lol
This extra step helps with that!
There’s no reason to do this. I believe he’s lacing them this certain way to avoid the laces coming in contact with the bottom eyelets when tieing or tightening the boots however …. If you lace them the opposite way you get rid of that problem in it’s entirety that’s why I thought it’s universally recognized as “the correct way” to lace a false tongue. I’ve also seen so many peoples false tongues to low almost touching the cap toe of a boot. Defiantly need to pull that tongue as high up as possible since it’s always going to slouch down over time. Even if the leather at the very top of the tongue doesn’t need protecting. It’s still worth it for the desired “proper look” or whatever people are going for. This is how I wear mine.. whites kiltie is too big for a viberg.. admittedly I think his look betterI've seen a few people do this. What's the theory behind doing it this way?
Kudos to you for sharing it on Facebook as well.It wasn’t my idea. I’m pretty sure I picked it up from someone on the Ironheart forum.
I will try this way in a little bit. Definitely looks better than mine. There’s no reason to do this. Yeah, I wear mine the same way. I just wondered if there was any particular reason for doing it the other way. There’s no reason to do this. Lol I hate kilties in general but I’ll take extra customization whenever possibleYeah, I wear mine the same way. I just wondered if there was any particular reason for doing it the other way.
I'm lazy and like the cleaner look of feeding the laces in through the back, but if some tearaway mad scientists want to concoct some kind of four-dimensional lace-lattice at the bottom of their kilties, I'm happy to let those crazy renegades carry on.
I can look cool now!
Who woulda thunk it?
Thank you bro!I like them better with the change…knocks it up at least one notch on coolness ratings. 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
This pair is sweet I didn’t know British tan cxl was this red

How were these to break in? I have a pair of Stevens in this leather and the White bite on my ankles is quite painful. I can go about 1/2 day before I have to loosen the laces. It is impossible for me to lace up the top hook. I find the Maryam leather thick, dry, and stiff. I hope it softens up. My BH's are CXl and MP's HH. Both were pretty easy to break in.Favorite White's?
I think they have to be my BHs in Maryam Tosconello Horse butt - just love the color, it's very rich.

For ease/comfort I still love my original SDs in brown cxl - very low maintenance and quick to put on/remove.
Yes it was the toughest to break in of any of my 9 or so boots (not all Whites)and painfull on the ankle bones. It took about 10 or so miles of walking to loosen up.How were these to break in?
