I flew on Delta from Atlanta to Portland with return flight Seattle to Atlanta for $365 then receive a $200 travel credit from AMEX, so my round trip airfare was $165. If you can travel there, I highly encourage it.

Before I discovered White's I lived in SF for a long time and regularly drove up to see friends in the Portland area -- on I-5, right past Eugene! I will get back to OR one day (and would love to hit up wine country in WA again, putting me near White's), but there are many more pressing trips on the list before that happens.

It could do one of two things which both are positive:

1) A trip to Baker’s confirms you have the right size;

2) A trip to Baker’s confirms you have the wrong size, but you are now an informed, educated buyer that can purchase the next boots with confidence!

I see it as a win-win.
Up until recently I used to go on week long trips several times a year.
I could never manage to keep the total cost less than $1500 which could be two, three pairs of White's boots, depending on the configuration ?

Nice looking boots!
Thanks for the photo.
They look really comfortable and with the 5050 last and the calf leather, I bet they fit like gloves.
I wonder if the stock leather on mainstreets is french calf?

Where on the east coast do you currently live?

What a leather combination!
What are the different leathers?

Shaft: Brown Elk Tan

Vamp/heel: Brown Oil Roughout that I DYI dyed with Angelus Brown Suede Dye. I wanted a richer brown than the tannish brown that is brown R/O.

Kiltie: Wickett & Craig English Bridle; I bought a few pairs when I noticed that Nick’s sells it stock. It looks pinkish in the fading sunlight photo but it is sienna.
I’m not sure if the kilties work. There is a lot going on. Though, I’m curious how the bridle ages. Thankfully Kilties are a easy switch.

I’m in NYC now. Not exactly living a lifestyle requiring robust work boots (and it’s too hot to wear them for about 3 months a year) but I manage to find ways to put my pairs to good use

Received a Father's Day Sale email from Baker's, but it looks like the 20% code (HUNT2021) does not apply to White's, or indeed to Danner and a few other brands. Maybe that'll change later this week -- I hope so because I had my eye on a pair of Danners!

That code doesn't seem to apply to Wesco either. I'm actually kind of in favor of "no sales" on Whites as long as it leads to improved QC and less mistakes in building per the customer's spec sheet.

I emailed Kyle this morning about my SD order from BF.

During the email exchange, he mentioned that the sale will go live Tuesday evening and it will be 20% off. Did not say if it was limited to only some brands.

Crispi, Lowa and Zamberlan are the only boot brands specifically mentioned in the email. Considering White's likely pandemic-related order backlog and the upcoming fire season it would not surprise me if they have no more sales until later this year to avoid getting flooded with additional orders. Then again, no company would turn down money no matter how long it might take them to deliver.

I think this is just another sale targeted at these brands.
I think the Father's Day sale will start later and have a more holiday-appropriate code :) Something like FATHER21 :)
