I'm about to get my fourth pair soon, and I've perhaps been luckier than most in that the builds I have ordered have all been ok. One had one issue but I could live with it.. I'd much rather have an extended wait time for the boots to come out better. Realistically 8-12 weeks isn't at all long for a custom spec boot, I've waited much much longer (try 1-2 years) for a pair of boots and I didn't mind. They seem to be taking on more work than they can handle, but if they set the right expectations up front or delay delivery I'd much prefer that versus all the QC errors mentioned.

What brand was that?

Yeah, I think there are some growing pains in the changing of their demographic.
I think this is absolutely correct. In fact, a similar sentiment has been expressed before on this thread:
I would suggest that there is probably a much higher demand for whites than there ever was, now that quality work gear is considered fashionable, which means they've probably increased their staff to keep up with demand and they probably have workers who are still gaining experience.
Both of you guys are correct that White's need time to adjust to a more fashion oriented demographic, though your posts are separated by more than six years.

I figured the introduction of the MP boot (when was that? 2017?) was when White's really acknowledged the fashion market since many people saw it as a direct response to the popularity of boots from Viberg, Truman et al. So they've had a few years. That said, my MPs are the only White's boots that have had zero QC issues, so maybe (speculating based on my sample size of one) they have a different production line/process/standard for making those vs the traditional work boots like the BH, SJ, and SD.

Possibly you're right; though even if we say that White's first entered the fashion market in 2017, that's still a fair amount of time to be going through growing pains. For what it's worth, I've had MP boots with QC issues, so I think it's a question of manufacturing consistency, rather than a particular production line or process.

I will have three BH by tomorrow. THe first one was perfect (CXL). The second one was remade three times (according to Bakers as I never saw it) but it was HH which can be difficult to work with. My next is W&C. I expect this softer leather to be easier to work with than the HH. We will see.

That leather looks 'alluring'!

Yeah, I ripped off the build after seeing this boot. I think I may have changed a couple things but I was waiting for them to offer W&C leather. This is not my boot so I will se how similar it is tomorrow.

Other than LTT it looks similar to Bakers' pictures on their website. The Latigo makes it a beautiful pair of boots. Personally I like boots to be a little rugged looking but the only way to make it happen would be add lug soles?? What other options do we have to make boots slightly rugged looking or it's not possible with a leather like latigo?

I would argue six years is sufficient time to get the "kinks" worked out... alas... here we are.
