Since I have some extra time on my hands - wanted to see if people would be interested in matching belts for their boots?

Obviously wouldn't be able to offer all of White's leather selection, but maybe top 5 colors? CXLs, British Tan, distressed is what I'm thinking.

Thoughts?

What's important to people in a casual/jean belt? Lined, stitched, buckles, snaps/rivits/Chicago screws?
Chicago screws with different belt buckle options would be cool. Nothing fancy just more of a work/heavy duty belt.

Definitely interested. Nothing fancy for me. No stitches or lining, but I do like teardrop holes. Chicago screws or rivets are good. Having different buckle options would be great: roller buckle, 2 prong, 1 prong, etc.

Issue I see with CXL hides without a liner is they would stretch out quite a bit....

Bridle leather. Simple matched stitching, no liner. I do agree that chicago screws and say 4 default buckle options (2 brass, 2 steel). 1.5" wide
For example, besides a number of Equus belts, I have a couple from this site. Quality is good and chicago screws. Just not the color options:

Agree with @linafelt a square or garrison style buckle would fit whites boots the best. I’d be in for some CXL

It's a great idea, not the right time for me to buy, but would love a matching Oiltan belt.

Now,.this might be a stupid suggestion, but my old belt buckle had a bottle opener on the back of it. It was the most useful thing ever. I'd consider this.

Also supporting the Hangar Project I see...

Yeah my initial purchase actually ended up being cheaper there because of the single international postage. Compared with getting what I wanted on eBay/Amazon for cheaper but more postage.

what's the build? haven't been around here in a while.

I'll do photos and a write up soon, but they are Bounty Hunters. Wife also thinks they are much nicer than the photos indicated.

Nice! What heel profile did you go with? Standard or lowered?

Standard. I was tempted by lowered at first, but a big selling point for me was arch ease (with flat feet and lower back issues) so I didn't want to interfere with it.

Buying Main Streets first was a fantastic idea as it got me a taste as a much lower price.

I got my horsehide semidress today (exactly nine weeks after I ordered them if anyone is wondering about turnaround time). Has anyone ever received a pair with mismatched outsole and heel stack? I ordered natural since I already have three pairs with brown. It looks terrible to me, but I could be overreacting.

Looks kinda cool to me, but I can understand that you might not like it (three shades of brown in one boot). Almost looks like they accidentally applied a brown edge dressing to the midsole and not the heel stack.

I don't mind it, but you'll need to resolene them eventually anyway, this just brings it forward

Boots in the shade

20200327_131518.jpg

A bit of sun and a bit of shade to see the contrast

So these arrived a few days ago and as mentioned they have exceeded my expectations.

I am very happy with brown Oiltan which isn't quite as dark as I thought. I've given it a coat of renovataur and it just drank it in. It has a few minor imperfections but it's a work boot and leather and overall I'm very happy with the leather.

7 inches is great. I like the "in between" style of it, not too tall but certainly adds.to the bulk compared to the 5 inch mains streets

I think the last suits me but it's hard.to know what is perfect. With US $65 shipping one way, I doubt I would venture from the last and size.

I will soon dye the white stitching with resolene but haven't had the chance. The wife really likes them.too and says they are much more formal than would expect from photos. (Not formal like "with a suit" but she thought they would be fine with chinos and a collar which is the most you can expect)

Nice and beefy too and I hope - hard to tell but I hope - the unlined will.give me some cool in the warmth. Possible I will.end up tropics or subtropics in next few years and they might end up as camping or short bushwalk boots.

Interestingly when I walk despite the bulk of them I can really feel the ground..makes me think I could go another leather sole, which I liked will if I go for round 3 as I'd go a half sole this time*.

I haven't had a chance to walk on a very wet slippery surface as my danite sole sucks on that. Will.be interesting.

The other odd thing is I feel like the arch support goes across the entire horizontal width, hopefully I just need to meld my foot into place.

So overall I.am.thinking my 3 year old and I will be on a lot of picnics in walkable distances this year. Things we can do together, but still distance from others, and these will be perfect. As I mentioned, I was sacked from.my. job recently due to covid, about 5 week after passing up a safe job with government - as my bosses promised my the sky. Not to mention my wife is an intensive care.doctor and pregnant.. so like all of us right now, life is very out of sync, and I just could not take a fight with White's or Bakers if there was an issue. There is not

My first "real" pair of white's and I'm very happy.

* Round 3 will not happen until I'm safely employed again, Aussie dollar is over 75 cents and I have not moved to the super hot part of the tropics... All three happening within 2 years I'd say 25%
