Recently placed an order through Bakers for the oxfords in distressed rough-out. As my other pair of White's were a gift, I have no concept of how long I should expect them to take to be made. Does Baker's/White's give any time estimate for completion?

Current quote is 8-10, but I'm at 12+. Kyle is corresponding with White's at the moment figuring out what has happened. You can expect to tack on an extra week if you ordered before Christmas.

    Thanks.

Ordered earlier this week- here's to hoping these make it out on the shorter end of that estimate! Twelve weeks is brutal.

Unfortunately for me, at this point if they have not gone into production I'm going to have to cancel the order as I need mine for work in a few more weeks. Then it'll be another 8-10 week wait for some semi-dress boots to replace my current casual beaters!

Kyle at Baker's told me it was at 8 weeks when I ordered just before Christmas.

I think this may have come up before, but now I can't find it: Bakers' Buildaboot lists four possible lasts for the Smokejumper/Farmer-Rancher -- 38 Swing, 461 Classic, Semi-Dress, and Standard Last. I though I knew how the Lasts worked, but I also thought that "Semi-dress" = "Standard," so now I am unsure. Does anyone know for sure, are the Standard and Semi-dress different lasts? And if so, how?

    Thanks!

Semi dress is standard on the SD model.
SJ/Farmer rancher is standard on the Smokejumper model.

Any idea if size difference between the Oxford shoe and a Whites boot, say a S-D? Should I order the same size? As it`s unlined, could I drop a width I wonder?

Do you have a sense of how they differ on appearance and/or fit and feel?

    Thanks.

SJ is a lot more bulky and squarish.

SD is of a more sleek profile.

I have no actual fit and feel experience on the SJ, though.

Bounty hunter is a SJ on SD last.

If I have a high instep and high arch, does that remove the SD from possibility for me? I like the look of the SD more than the SJ, but if it'll be uncomfortably tight in the instep I will have to find another boot.

You can get a different width, would that help? The arch-ease system is supposed to be very good for arch support.
