How do they do their measurements in person? Same as the ones of the instructions with a measuring tape?

    That looks nice.

I might do a bounty hunter version of unicorn`s red dog/natural sj setup

Yes with the measuring tape, but I believe they go more in depth..with your foot held up, standing, foot and calf measurements, they look at your actuall foot and how you walk. I live in WA and I fight fire for the FS, so it was a no-brainer to go to the shop, but I realize others are not close at all. They have great people that work there, so if one is not able to make it, self measurements and phone conversations can = a great fit. Also, it is very convenient because they have my measurements on file, so when I want another pair of boots, I just tell them the model or specifics and they know exactly what size ect to make it...I'm loving these semi dress's!

Nice! I did the measuring tape while sitting down with your foot crossed over and measured at different spots and also did the tracings. I am usually a C width but baker`s got me a B instead. Wonder how they do it instead. Anyone know?

Nice, Gurr -- are those a double sole??

Really hoping my Brown SDs come in the darker midsole like yours, but in the pics they look very beefy....

Thanks! They are the single leather midsole with the "western" rubber sole added. They do look more beefy in these pics than they truly are....wore them today for the first day, most of the day, comfy! I had them put Spenco's in them for added cushion. I also had them add the thin rubber sole because of the snow and wetness during the winters here in the NW. Love them!

You mean the western sole you ordered, or another sole?

Just the western sole....they come standard with the single leather sole. I thought that adding the western sole (thin rubber), would hold up better with winter.

Hey. I am trying to decide between the "standard" last and the "461" (upturned toe) last. Can anyone post good side pics of a boot with the 461. I have seen a few of course, but the more I can see the better. I think I like it, but want to be sure about how upturned it is.

Also, can anyone comment on how it feels compared with the standard?

    Thanks.

Good question - I haven't seen too many pics (although Bakers does have one), but having seen one in real life, I have to say that the upturned look dies create quite a different boot. And I`m not sure why, but the finish didnt seem up to the semi dresses.

Thanks gd1944 for posting these pics. (Those are impressive boots!) Looks like the upturn is less dramatic than that in the Viberg (310 last) Service Boot, but that it starts earlier in the boot -- almost behind the ball of the foot even, rather than up closer to the toe as in the Viberg. Hmmm... still not sure which way to go.

If anyone can do a good side pick like this for a Semi-Dress, please do.

Or again, comment on the feel.

    Thanks!

Since White's are so customizable, I'm trying to figure out the differences between smoke jumpers and bounty hunters. Can't you get them both cut to the same height, with the same leather, on the same last?
